Do I need a Visa to travel to Canada?
Link to verify if you are exempt from applying for a Visa. However, these travellers will need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).

Where is the event hosted?
Fairmont Chateau Whistler, an amazing resort experience with swimming pools, spas, golf in a quaint Alpine Village plus 3,000 sq metres (32,000 square metres) of meeting space. The competition is in the MacDonald Ballroom on a 60 x 40 foot stage with our Rosco Touring Dance Floor. There are also ballrooms for convention classes, change rooms, and rehearsal space. 1. How do I qualify for Dance World Cup?

2. Explain the judging? When are results announced?
Three faculty provide online video judging. Each studio receives a video of each routine with recorded critiques. The judges scores are based on technique (30%), choreography (30%), performance (30%), and overall appearance (10%). High score winners are announced following the Head to Head Showdown at the Gala Showcase. Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals are presented on stage on Olympic style podiums at awards presentation in the Richelieu Ballroom following the Gala Showcase July 4.

3. What is the Head to Head?
Two top scoring routines will compete against one another Head to Head for high score trophies in three divisions:
Classical Division: Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical
Urban Division: Street Jazz, Hip Hop, Breaking
Broadway Division: Jazz, Tap, Stage, Musical Theatre

4. What awards are presented at Dance World Cup?
Dancers receive 7.6 cm (3 in) Dance World Cup medals for gold, silver, and bronze in each category of each age division. High Score Dance World Cup crystal trophies are 50 cm tall (20 in). Dancers must be present to receive their awards. They will not be mailed or cannot be picked up after the competition.

5. Where is the convention and competition?
The competition is on the 60 x 40 ft stage in the Macdonald Ballroom at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. The convention for 13 & Up is on the Macdonald stage, and for 12 & Under in the Empress Ballroom. Rehearsals and change rooms are in the Empress, Tremblant, and Beausejour ballrooms.
International faculty will offer workshops in three forms of dance followed by rehearsals to stage choreography for performances in the Gale Showcase in their Dance World Cup outfit. Their performing outfit is included in the convention fee. Workshops and rehearsals do not conflict with competition. Dancers must be available June 30 - July 4 for workshops and for the performance at the Closing Ceremonies July 4, 2027.

7. What is included in the tour in 2026?
We will be celebrating our 20th anniversary of Dance World Cup with festivities to be announced and the world famous Peak to Peak, and the Cloudraker Skybridge.
